Most of us consider chocolate an indulgent treat. Studies now show it also provides various health benefits. The main ingredient in chocolate - flavonoids in cacao seeds- may cut high blood pressure and positve benefits on cardiovascular health. Now studies also show that chocolate may also reduce risk of stroke. From 1997 to 2008 data from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm show that participants experienced a 20 percent lower risk when eating 45 grams of chocolate a week as opposed to less than 8.9 grams per week. So enjoy your chocolate in moderation and be sure to mantain good oral heath care.
